Symphoni Wiggins/Studio Owner & Artistic Director
Creative Movement/Tap . Modern . African . Hip Hop . Majorette . Performing Company & Team
Symphoni Wiggins! A proud product of Augusta, Georgia, Symphoni isn't just a dancer – she's a
luminary, an educator, and a visionary with an indomitable spirit poised to redefine the very
essence of movement. Symphoni's journey into the world of dance commenced at the tender age of 7, under the
tutelage of the esteemed Cutno Dance Center in Augusta, GA. From those early days, her
passion for dance burned bright, igniting a flame that would illuminate her path for years to
come. Raised in Augusta, Symphoni's dance journey continued and she began dancing in the band and
increased her love of majorette at the Academy of Richmond County High School. In 2007, she
emerged as a bright star, graduating her sights on higher horizons. Her path led her to the esteemed halls of Hollins University in Roanoke, VA, where she pursued her dreams with unwavering dedication. Fueled by her passion and driven by her relentless pursuit of excellence, Symphoni graduated with flying colors, earning her BA in Dance with a minor in Communications. It was here that she honed her craft, mastering a diverse array of
disciplines and many master teachers, each step propelling her closer to her destiny. But Symphoni's journey was never confined to the four walls of a classroom. She ventured beyond, immersing herself in the rich tapestry of dance festivals across the nation. As a scholarship recipient at the prestigious American Dance Festival at Duke University and the New Orleans Jazz Dance Festival at Tulane University, she absorbed wisdom from the masters, each experience enriching her soul and fueling her passion. Symphoni's influence transcends the studio; it permeates every facet of her being. As the dedicated dance instructor at the Boys and Girls Club of Augusta, she imparts not just choreography, but wisdom, guidance, and inspiration to young minds eager to embrace the transformative power of dance. As the revered coach of an award-winning all-star technical dance team and majorette team, she shatters stereotypes and champions the heritage of dance
forms rooted in African, Jazz, and Hip Hop traditions. But Symphoni's greatest legacy lies in her pioneering spirit. She is the FIRST to fuse majorette
into a regional dance convention, breaking barriers and blurring boundaries to create a space where all styles are celebrated and embraced. Her mission is clear: to dispel the stigma against majorette dancers and showcase the depth and diversity of their artistry, rooted in the rich tapestry of African American culture at HBCUs nationwide. Beyond her accolades and achievements, Symphoni's heart beats for one thing above all: teaching. It is her calling, her passion, her raison d'être. Through her beloved studio, A Creative Symphoni Dance Studio, now in its 10th triumphant season, she nurtures the next generation of
dancers, guiding them with love, patience, and unwavering support. As if her contributions weren't profound enough, Symphoni lends her expertise to the National Dance Competition Inspire as a judge for the 2023/2024/2025 seasons, shaping the future of dance with her discerning eye and boundless passion.
So join us as we celebrate the luminous legacy of Symphoni Wiggins – a beacon of light, a source of inspiration, and a true pioneer in the world of dance. Together, let us dance into the future, with Symphoni leading the way.
